the imagery and symbolism in this book is amazing- I'm obsessed with it!

The characters are well written and interesting, I love the plot, it's a unique premise and it keeps you hooked until you finish the book. I love the nonbinary Gods and the lesbian innkeeper/ Mayor, nice touches, and I like how their sexualities/ Gender aren't capitalized upon or made a big deal out of. Although I do wish Marissa would write a main character who was queer.

I sped through this book, I just couldn't get enough of it. The twists and turns were thrilling. I can't wait to get to the next one.

It has been a long time since I have read a fantasy book, and once I got going I thoroughly enjoyed this book. My only complaint is I didn't have the second one ready to read as soon as I finished it!

I think the main character and premise are interesting, and it was enough to keep me reading. However, much of the writing just feels so predictable and flat.
