I think this was my favorite of the series plot-wise. I thought that Kira's character was given more space to shine and Lydia/Alteria in particular developed. I really enjoyed Nigel and Blayde. The ending felt really rushed to me, and, like with book 2, a copyeditor was sorely needed, though this one wasn't quite as bad. The homophones are so often incorrect that I cringed all over the place. For me, wanting to find out what happened made me keep going, which is a point in favor of the author's storytelling as typos and errors so egregious would normally make me put a book down.
