A recent locked-room mystery is a nice thing to find. The solution to this one is uncomplicated but reasonable.
The cozy-genre accoutrements (quirky sibling antics; multi-book romantic arc) were a bit much for me, though at least they did tie into the main plot.
I was annoyed by one loose end: Why did the killertake some of the victim's personal effects—when leaving them would have strengthened the appearance of suicide—and then dispose of them where they could easily be found ? The latter action was not even followed up on in-story.
