First Jodi picoult book where I saw the twist well in advance. A story about a tough topic which, as always with Picoult, incorporates unique themes and learnings of art, philosophy and culture this time incorporating Dante’s Inferno and Inuit culture in Alaska. the book ends on a heartwarming note for the family, reminding me that nothing ever stays good or bad forever/spoiler>

The book started in Alaska but then moved to being in Maine and didn't get back to the events that happened right be fore the beginning until the last few chapters. I was really hoping I would enjoy this but about 3/4 of the way through I was considering DNFing it because it was taking too long to conclude and was becoming repetitive. I ended up finishing it but would've liked it more if it was shorter or included more about Alaska
