I started this book close to Christmas as we need a cozy book by our side during holidays.
Lucy Score's "The Christmas fix" is a spicy - heartwarming , holiday-themed romance that is based on the beloved enemies to lovers theme. The opposites attract theme made me think this will make an amazing movie. Set in the small town of Merry, Connecticut, the story is about saving the town's Christmas Festival after a terrible hurricane.
Our main lead, is our heroine, Catalina -"Cat" King and our hero is a grumpy city manager Noah Yates.
Cat is vibrant, full of life and has a dynamic personality with Noah who is divorced and has a daughter and is very protective.
What starts as a misunderstanding and dislike for each other gradually turns into likeness and admiration.
Very quickly, the book turns from romance to steamy romance. The relationship between Cat and Noah unfolds as a slow burn, evolving from clashes and scepticism to genuine affection. Although, I feel romance is more with feelings than lust. Noah’s initial judgmental attitude towards Cat drew mixed reactions, with some perceiving it as annoyingly misogynistic, though his eventual softening and dedication to his daughter, Sara, redeemed his character for many.
The cover is on point but I feel Christmas setting deserves a little more festivity. Romcoms are predictable and so, is this. But, if you are looking for a cheesy read then, this is your book. As always, if you read this as an audiobook, the spice will increase.

This was a very cute, yet spicy, book! I loved the story though sometimes I did get a little bored of the plot and the back and forth debate on if Noah could trust Cat or not. It definitely fits enemies to lovers. And as my first single dad book I think it was a good intro for me. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone wanting a holiday read.
She's a reality TV star who wants to save a Christmas festival and he's the grumpy town manager who wants her as far away as possible from his town. Cat King wants to save Merry, Connecticut's Christmas Festival, especially after the flood that had damaged the town. She wants to help the town rebuild, get the festival back in time, and put it all on tv to help raise money, the only issue is that the grumpy town manager, Noah Yates wants her as far away from possible and wants nothing to do with her show. Noah is a single dad who wants to be a role model to his daughter and to rebuild his town after the hurricane season wrecked it. He does not want Cat to make his town look pathetic on her tv show, he does not want her anywhere near his town, he doesn't trust her but he doesn't have a choice in letting her go ahead with her show because he so desperately needs the funds to help rebuild. Cat is dangerous for Noah, she's beautiful, famous, and gets under his skin. Noah and Cat get off on the wrong foot except their animosity towards each other might fuel another emotion, lust. One kiss and suddenly they can't stop wanting each other, and it's going to take a Christmas miracle to fix Merry and to figure out their feelings for one another. This is a Christmas romance between a feisty actress and a grumpy town manager. Cat and Noah are an enemies to lovers trope romance, yet if I'm going to be honest, I really didn't feel anything for them and didn't really get their romance. They both felt a bit immature (though to be fair, Noah is way worse, seriously I was fed up with this man the entire book). It didn't feel like a Christmas romance and I kind of wish there was just more holiday or more emotional storyline. I found myself just getting a bit bored with the story but managed to get to the end. While this one didn't work for me if you enjoy enemies to lovers with a bit of reality tv show mixed in give this one a go, it might be for you!

Let me preface this review by saying that this is the first Lucy Score book I have ever read… But I am hooked. I was so intensely lost within this story that I didn’t know what was happening in real life. This book, this story became my reality. Cat is the amazing embodiment of female beauty and power, working hard to prove she can do the job the same as, or better, than any man. Noah may be quiet, but he has a heart of gold and only wants the best for his family and town. This book had me laughing and smiling and crying and happy. I absolutely loved this book and already want to read it again… I’m just sad that I’ll never be able to read it for the first time again.

I wanted to love this. It was a cute enemies to lovers story. But the FMC is so fat phobic. It really ruined this book for me.
