Oh Agatha, your books are so engrossing and characters so detailed and yet your twists and endings leave me feeling a bit eh!
Reading this after "and then there were none" feels funny asbasically no one did it and now everyone did? At least here there were more clues and you have more of a chance to solve it yourself. Still, I've learned my lesson, stop taking notes with Christie's books, you won't figure it out. Just enjoy!

لست من محبي الروايات البوليسية ، لكن قرأتها حباً في الإطلاع على أدب روائية عظيمة مثل أجاثا كريستي .. وإذا كانت كل الروايات البوليسية ستكون بهذه الحرفية فسأذهب إليها دائماً .. ولن تكون آخر قراءاتي لأجاثا.
رغم أن الرواية مزدحمة بالشخصيات إلا أن المؤلفة حافظت للقارئ على سهولة تتبع الأحداث وترتيبها وتبسيط الشخصيات بشكل موفق .. وعلى مدار أحداث الرواية تتبدل الأدلة والمعطيات لتجد نفسك تشك في جميع الرُكاب بالقطار وأحياناً لا تشك .. حتى تأتي النهاية الصادمة الغير متوقعة تماماً !!

This being the first Agatha Christie book I read in a while, I was struck by how outdated it felt - from the "Orient Express" to the language used to the descriptions of the characters and each of the compartments in the train! Liked the story but never had a clue what the solution was toward the end, like always! I barely even tried to guess, I knew the answer would be so convoluted.

Agatha Christie has been on my TBR list for a very long time, so I decided to read this one as part of Hoopla's 2025 Reading Challenge. While the plot was interesting, the writing never drew me into the story.
