This book has a medium pace where we follow Poirot's mind and discoveries to finally get to the truth. It has a very surprising plot twist and gives a special ending to a murder. It questions whether murder is always injustice and "wrong" when more people stand on the side of murderers. The ending is a more ideal and warm, and not stricted in law.

Second time reading, read it for class. It reminded me of my love for the genre, though I nowadays call it as a guilty pleasure for I am a more serious literature (also philosophy now) major.
I had the chance to read it looking for the patterns of the genre and track the clues, yet I was robbed of the amusement of actually trying to guess the murderer(s). The class is really enjoyable and I feel naturally drawn to its subject, yet there are only so many pieces of readings I can enjoy playing detective myself while reading for I have already read more than half of the syllabus in the past 10 years :)
Good Job Poirot! Seeing the differences between the nature of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot was interesting. Also the narratives of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie were so distinctly different from each other.
Had some enjoyable hours of nostalgia from 10th grade while reading.

  1. I kinda watched the movie so I already knew the ending. But it was still interesting to see how Poirot figured it out!
  2. I feel bad for rating this a 3 (even if that's not a bad rating) but this story was generally just okay for me. I liked And Then There Were None better.

I LOVED how this was written, how the plot was unravelled. Extremely fun to read.
