3 ⭐️ The Scarlet Veil was enjoyable but at times I found the some characters to be a bit annoying and I just did not caring all that much about what was happening.

Crazyyyyyyy ending. Makes me wanna read the sequel immediately. Also, Célie did annoy me a bit but she was trying her best, and she grew on me  by the end

I wasn't that big of a fan of this book. I should have looked a bit harder to find out that this is a vampire romance because I have yet to find one that I like. I'll give it a fair rating based on the overall story itself, character development, and pacing.

This might work for someone else as a standalone. For me, I feel like reading serpent and dove would have made this a better read

This is a spinoff series to this author’s original trilogy Serpent and Dove. I was not vibing with this book at all for the first third. It’s annoying when every plot line is just characters keeping secrets from the main character, causing her to charge recklessly into things repeatedly. But after that 1/3rd mark, the story found its footing and by the end, I was fully invested. I am interested to see where the story goes from here, especially after the huge cliffhanger of an ending
