2.5 the author writes vampires in a good way and I genuinely liked that aspect but this was so long and the main character was so dumb it was incredible. truly. this whole book was just her making decisions she thought were good but it was just to spite other (rational) characters she didn't like & within a page you see it turn out badly. don't even get me started on that ending. pls get an editor ASAP. to be honest i probably will read the sequel tho (pls be shorter) because life is too short not to engage with vampire books even if the main character has the brain of an oyster

This one didn't do it for me. The writing was generally good, and the plot was interesting but it wasn't enough. I know it was technically a standalone, but I think too much of the world-building must have happened in the previous series. Also, the character I think its supposed to be the love interest was all the worst parts of a dark romance MMC and none of the good ones. I do not think I'll continue this one.

I loved this book but ending was a big bleh.. I didn't really make any sense to me, and honestly I couldn't tell if the person who was narrating at the end was Pippa (Fillpa) or Celie. Real confusing.
I loved Michal and he just sounded like a gorgeous specimen ngl. I didn't even know that alabaster was color, let alone that vampires had white hair. It took me like 500 pages of the book to realize that his hair was NOT black but white....
Michal got better and better through the series giving serious "I'll be the villain for you, to you." vibes. Which I loved

I did not like this book. As others have said this was way too dense for no reason. Most things were way too obvious and easy to guess what was coming each time. The only reason I give it 2 starts over 1 is there are tiny peaks of story that are interesting and engaging. And with those I do want to know what happens next slightly, but not enough to commit to reading the next one, I might just search up a summary after it comes out. The worst part of the story though is that ending, I get what the author was trying to do, but it didn’t work.

Omgggg the ending of this book!!
I had a few issues at the beginning, most of which are personal preference. I do wish the writer went more in depth with character descriptions, they were relatively vague for the most part. I also wish the descriptor incredulously wasn't used every 5 pages....however; the story line and the word setting, especially the different creatures were absolutely amazing. Great level of detail to the scenes and captivating character personalities. Fantastic tension between the protagonist and the love interest, (wouldn't have complained if there was slightly more spice though). Can't wait for the second one to come out!
