So, this book is somewhat outdated being from 2014 but also still very true. If you are a woman or a person with a uterus you have heard most or all of what's in this book. I got about 1/3 of the way in and then quickly skimmed the rest. If someone outside of women/others with a uterus reads this they might find something insightful and learn something, sadly, it would be incredibly surprising if they did pick up this book.
The author also feels the need to put "NOT ALL MEN" after basically every section or anecdote. It's very annoying, but maybe she got an editing note that said not to paint a picture that ALL men do x thing. Like we GET IT.
I'm giving it two stars because of that and because it's very obvious and doesn't really give any new information or even a call to action.

This collection of essays is much more than the humorous title and namesake first essay. I found the chapter on "#YesAllWomen" to be particularly moving, as was the inclusion of paintings by Ana Teresa Fernandez that divide the essays into each chapter. Solnit breaks gender inequality issues down by theme with blunt, yet witty and insightful commentary in "Men Explain Things to Me."

A few weeks ago I've realized after twenty three years of existence that I did not need to force myself to finish a book that doesn't work for me.
It is essentially a list of possible topics of dicussion, with bullet notes outlining opinions that never get to the point, really.

Word is power. Voice is our weapon. Why radical feminism is considered as radical ? Cuz they firmly define that women are human. People will sacrifice, but profound ideas never die, and the covered truth will always be there.
