I wanted to love but I didn’t. I kept waiting for it to get better. It didn’t. Why is not there a DNF option! It is no Guncle.

I’m a sucker for a chosen family storyline what can I say !

I didn’t love Guncle, but I thought I’d give Celebrants a chance. Unfortunately, for me it was just as plotless and boring as Guncle if not more so. I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters and the premise of these college best friends not keeping in contact at all except when someone invokes the pact is a little unrealistic.

Such a beautiful story. I loved it even more after I finished the story and read the write up included by the author.

4.25 - really, truly loved this book. A lighthearted but poignant take on grief and celebrating life. Especially enjoyed the parts about Big Sur and Mexico, as well as the premise of essentially “living eulogies” to remind our friends how important they are to us while we’re still alive. I think some parts could have gone deeper, but I enjoyed the humorous bits tremendously.

The characters are so whiny. They have good natured constant ribbing relationships. That get old.

Steven Rowley is a must read author for me! He has such wonderful characters. This is excellent for those that love stories about lifelong friends. This was a Read with Jenna Book.

Thanks to G.P. Putnam's Sons and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy of the book.
