This was more engaging than book 1, maybe because the background knowledge of book 1 made it easier to get into the adventure of this book. <I liked how the main character didn't end up with the focal love interest because it truly made sense based on the story world and the events of the novel.>

Won in a Goodreads giveaway. A cute time traveling novel with a unique way of traveling. Hoping there will be more in the series.

This is the second book in the series, and with the first one, I felt like a great premise was there, hit the author just hadn't grasped the best way to tell the story. In continuing to the second book, for the first half, I solidly thought this book was better than the first. Then, it spiraled a bit in repetitive actions, dialogue, and inner monologues. There lacked a forward motion in the plot. I will probably continue to read the third book, because I can still see the potential, though.

4.75 stars! The only thing that held it back from a full five stars was that it dragged at points, especially when Xanthe kept going back to modern day when the plot was clearly in the 17th century. Other than that wonderful, very much a “light” version of Outlander with even more time travel

The second book was ok. The story kept me interested, but I did find myself skimming a lot of sections just to get through it. Will I read the 3rd? Yes because I feel like i need to finish the series and I am a little invested as to what will happen to xanthe, her mom and friends....
