Crichton did not want to write this book and it shows. Still a fun read, if a bit disjointed, and I've used the comparison of evolutionary models in job interviews.

It’s got that good suspense and fun character setup that you liked in Jurassic Park, but a little too much predictability, and the thesis is muddier. From what I understand Crichton was coerced into this sequel.

sarah was easily the best character and had the best scenes. if you’re a woman and you like the movies this is a great book. not super in-depth with science like the first one.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Levine is an extremely unlikable "lead" character and I wish we saw some character growth in him, but A-holes tend to not change. It was awesome to see Sarah Harding as such an awesome character. Just an overall good book. Happy I followed through with a "series."
