An exciting sequel. Just like the first book, it has some resemblances to its movie counterpart, but they’re essentially very different stories and characters despite sharing the same names and setting.
I believe this sequel wasn’t originally planned, based on how the Ian Malcolm is “resurrected”, how the book doesn’t contribute anything signifcant beyond pure entertainment and maybe sharing some interesting scientific theories. However, the book is still amazing and I think any fan of the Jurassic Park franchise would enjoy it.
Just like the first book, Lost World starts slow and picks up the pace the more we read. Yet this one isn’t as slow paced as the first one. The characters are memorable, and this time there were more opportunities to get to know them better based on how they reacted to their surroundings.
Important disclaimer as usual, these books aren’t for paleo-professionals that can’t stand inaccurate representation of dinosaurs.
Highly recommended, Lost World is a great sequel and good conclusion to a fantastic duology.
