Oh no, this is not how you write a friends to lovers trope (at least not in my head). The switch up from the friends to lovers part from the MMC was so sudden and out of almost nowhere when the FMC is still like lost/recovering from her previous engagement? It felt so forced and the initial building intimacy made me uncomfortable with the MMC behaviour. Towards the end the FMC morphs into the insufferable teenage girl phase whenever with the MMC.
I hated the fact that the MMC basically went "trust me bro" as a response whenever the FMC was trying to confront him about what he wanted out of being intimate. Tbh the start of their relationship was a situationship. I was also pretty shocked to find out this book was published last year (hence tiktok ref) since the writing feels something from the 2010 era.
It seems Meghan Quinn's MMC characters doesn't sit right with me (going 2 for 2 now) and throws the whole story out the window. So this is probably my last read from the author.

Okay honestly it got better. I was so bored and so annoyed by Lia…. Girl commit or not and open your eyes, how can you miss my darling Breaker!! I liked it when it turned into the plot of Maid of Honor the movie (okay I like that movie because of Patrick Dempsey) so from then on Breaker looked like McDreamy in my head.
It ended satisfying and with a decent end for the other brothers as well. Looooots of side characters, I think I’m supposed to read more MQ books? Not for a while cause maaaan I’m ready for fantasy books again!
