I held off on listening to this one after I finished the first book bc Xan just seemed like a selfish spoiled brat. I'm glad I came back to it tho and I got to see just how sad and lonely and damaged Xan is/was. Even with the amazing relationship he has with Caleb he was still such a mess. Watching these 3 come together and navigate the new relationship was so rewarding. Caleb is truly such a lovely and kind soul. I love the ace rep and the unconventional partnership they form by the end. It was so beautiful to see how this played out.

I really tried to finish it. Even skimming it. But the writing style was just not my cup of tea. Even the spicy scene was something I couldn't get thru. But also, who goes straight from eating ass to kissing their partner? That took me out like a whiplash.
I didn't mind the layers of Transphobe and homophobia bc that makes for realistic and believeable ish setting. But the big age gap and writing style ( alpha cock, fat alpha cock etc etc)...yeah no thanks.

This story was also so good. I love the emotional growth of the characters and seeing the MC from Slow heat was a bonus.. This couple was also made for each other.
"He's my omega. I'll take care of him."
"And you're my omega," Urho whispered. "I'll take care of you."

This is truly unlike any omegaverase story I've read and included parallels to homophobia and transphobia in this alternate world. The romance was so sweet and lovely, and it also included ace representation, and along with that, the importance of friendship and nom romantic love. This was just soooo good!
Also, I had to double check the publishing date because the book contains a very COVID-esque pandemic, so I guess content warnings for that if you are sensitive.

Moderate: Pandemic/Epidemic
Having really liked Xan in book one, this was lovely to see him get his happy.
I think Leta Blake dealt with this Xans sexuality very well. it felt she had read and done research on Trans thoughts and feelings and incorporated them into this novel through careful writing. I cannot begin to comment but from a cis white female reader, it was handled well.
I enjoyed the interactions between all the Mcs, and it was lovely to see the characters from book one. Although, this didn quite click with me.
