I’ve never read a Jasmine Guillory book before and figured I’d read this one since it’s not connected to her wedding date series. I didn’t realize this was a Disney adult romance novel and I probably wouldn’t have picked this up had I known. It is a beauty and the beast retelling with izzie working for a publisher and trying to get Beau’s life story. It’s a clean romance, which is not something I enjoy personally but I’m sure that’s a big selling point to a lot of people. I also didn’t think this stood out amongst all of the other beauty and the beast retellings, but it could be because I’ve read way too many at this point and it was never my favourite fairytale. Jasmine guillory’s writing was fine though and I’d be interested in reading another book from her.

I love books about books and I love enemies to lovers. However, this book felt repetitive to me. They fight, they make up, will they/won't they. Some parts were exciting but the majority was a tad too slow for me.
The ending was passable.
This isn't my first Jasmine Guillory book, and the main reason I picked it up was to tick off one of the "Kindle Reading Challenge" boxes. That being said, I'm sure I'll somehow make my way back to this author and I certainly hope that it will be more my style.
