"The dead aren't scary. They're just sad."

Explanation:
My first book from the huge Percy Jackson universe! Safe to say - I will be reading more.
This book was quite easy to read, whether it was because it was easy to understand because it's a kids book or it was really good, I'd say somewhere in the middle. That also is where my problem with the book was - some stuff felt cringy? Yes, that is because they're kids, but I just didn't like some of the stuff that was written and I thought that Percy, Poseidon and their interaction was kind of underwhelming. Expected more.
Those are my problems with it, now for the good stuff. This book was so fun to read! Annabeth, Grover and Percy are such a trio. Hades's part was was probably my favourite (with the dialogue) and also the Medusa part. The characters were created really well, it stayed true to the myths and I liked the overall take on it. A good book about the gods, demi-gods, etc.
I will be checking out the next one because the twist (although expected) was somewhat shocking and I want to find out how it will play out.

Don't steal the thunderbolt kids. Otherwise you might just accidentally meet the best demigod to ever exist.
