I really enjoyed this second part of The Black Musketeers saga. A little disappointed with the narrator ( everyone but Lukas got the correct accent for their nationality, but no German for him). I hope there is a third, it was certainly left open for a continuation. Oh and now I want a domesticated bat cat as a pet.

Ok read

Not as good as the first one but still entertaining. It's obvious this book is more for young adults and tweens. Either way I'll still read the next one whenever it's released.

I have really enjoyed the Hangman's Daughter series, also by Potzsch, particularly for the way the author portrays history and geography as faithfully as he does the characters. Sadly, this series seems to actively try to ignore both the historical setting and geography, almost as if the author (or editor?) thinks the reader (presumably a young adult) is incapable of processing it. In short, these books feel like they are intentionally dumbed down, making them little more than stereotypical YA fiction.
