I was definitely interested in a series this features diving and crime fighting. I love a suspense filled story.
The reason behind my rating is as follows.
The characters seemed to be a little 'young minded'and naive to be in the professions they were. That struck me as not an authentic police procedure type attitude.
I may be getting more picky about things like this, so if I had read this book in my late teens or early twenties, I may have felt differently.
The pacing of the action was good up until the halfway point, where I felt like the tension in the book stalled. Both in the mystery and the romance. I think I expected more of a thriller and it was more of a light mystery. The good news is that I would have no problem giving this book to a late teen who is interested in mystery. Though the topic is human trafficking, it is very light.
I didn't hate it, I just don't think it was my style.
I personally like a little more grit to my stories.

Y’all In Too Deep gripped me! When this happy piece of book mail arrived in my box, I couldn’t wait to read it. Of course, I had to wait until the kiddos went to sleep, but once they did I entered Carrington, North Carolina.
There is so much that goes on. Not just suspense wise. Not just romance wise. But let’s solve a crime that’s more complex than anything you can think of. I LOVED it!! I had to make myself go to bed at midnight–I have kids I must sleep–but I woke up extra early to finish and boy am I glad I did.
I did not see what was coming. I mean I knew something was coming because of the amount of pages left (thank goodness the back didn’t trick me with extras), I just didn’t know what. And when that what was revealed–whoo! All in all, I was happy with this read even more than I was with book 1, Beneath the Surface. And I eagerly await book 3!
