I am torn, this book had some suuuuuuch good bits (initial part with the old man who lost his memory and the agent who surveyed with him, how the referendum for time divided everyone) and also some amazing medidtations on time and memory and I highlighted so many things.

I don’t think  all of it resonated because I think the authors outlook is more pessimistic than mine, but j really like that he just put it out confidently and it leaves you to agree or disagree. Super interesting that this could be gaustines last appearance as he got a lil dark

I also love the Swiss setting he nailed the Swiss ness

I would have loved a greater exploration of what led to the pessimism for the future and the fallout of these crazy events and how the continent can even go on with such chaos, but I feel like this was not the point of the book. It was more like introducing crazy cool ideas then moving on.

I'm confused and somewhat underwhelmed... I thought this was about time being malleable but instead was about memory loss.
