This is not the sort of book I usually read which may have contributed to why I am not that much of a fan. I did find Solomon charming, and for the most part enjoyed his portions of the book. I could not stand Lisa, she was so self absorbed and I felt she was very one dimensional as a character. I also found how quickly Solomon got better to be unrealistic, which is another reason I have issues with this book; getting better and leaving the house takes more than a month.

Lisa almost ruined this whole books for me, I feel like her character development was to little to late in the book. Other then her part I really liked the books and how it gave good information about anxiety, I have agoraphobia and it's hard for some people to really understand what it's like.

So incredibly good! I loved the storyline and the way that it kept you on your toes so often. I thought the ending was unfortunate but I didn’t take off stars because the rest of it was amazing. The descriptions of panic attacks are incredible.

The characters were far too unlikable, with selfish motives that end up getting the characters everything they want without much consequence. The anxiety portrayal falters in a lot of places, and the ending was very anticlimactic.

I really enjoyed this one! I’d been meaning to read it for awhile now, but then the pandemic hit and reading about a boy stuck inside didn’t sound as good… But! I feel it was the perfect time for me to read it!

I’ve been learning more about my own mental health lately and how it has limited me in this pandemic in similar ways to him in the book and just like him I’m finding more reasons to push myself to go out more. To take the risk despite my brain screaming at me not to.

I’m seeing friends, going to book stores, getting out and testing the waters. His story really has inspired me and also made me feel less crazy about it all and seen a bit more.

I took one half star off for just wishing it was longer and that the two other characters got more time to be better fleshed out especially with the mom.

Either way though, I truly enjoyed and got a lot out of it. Would definitely recommend 💛✨

I stumbled upon this book on Goodreads, and the plot seemed interesting so I started reading it.

This is my second time reading a book with a protagonist suffering from a mental illness, so I clearly haven't read much of this category (something that I am working to remedy) but I really did enjoy this book.

It was a surprisingly quick read and I really fell in love with all the characters. They were relatable and realistic; no one was perfect and I liked that. Whaley also developed the characters very well throughout the course of the novel.

There was no distinct villain in the story; Sol's (the MC) agoraphobia was the main thing they were dealing against, although some characters did make rather immoral decisions. Despite that, I somehow found a way to forgive them.

The author's writing style didn't particularly stand out for me, but that was okay, too, because the story and characters were so fascinating that it didn't bother me much. But again, the characters are what you'll really fall in love with here. It's definitely a very character-driven book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It dealt with some important issues too, specifically mental illness but I just think there was more to the story. The conclusion didn't have enough for me to be the end.
