Another great book to start the year. There are so many things here to praise. For one, a million well-written, interesting, and distinguishable characters who are juggled impressively. For another, so much wholesome relational value in the meeting and overlap of all of these characters’ stories.
This book is also quite funny. I wrote “haha” or “lmao” in the margins almost excessively. But there is such beautiful irreverence for so many things that is truly refreshing to read when often these things are discussed in incredibly serious ways.
Ultimately, it’s a book about the supernatural which is deeply human. You can feel from front cover to back how much joy the authors took in writing the piece together, and having my own experience with writers’ workshops and close friends who write, I’m sure it was the great work of their lifetime. A true Aziraphale and Crowley story. I could only ever hope to be so lucky

I'd definitely recommend listening to this and other Neil Gaiman books on audio book! Lots of great character voices and more enjoyable for the very fun but rambly bits.

maybe im just not british enough for this shit but it was so overly complicated that i could barely follow the plot or tell who was talking half the time. so many british references too and footnotes like chilllllll
I started with the audiobook, and quickly realized that this is one you need to hold in your hands.
It’s funny and absurd and ridiculous and silly and just wonderful. I love the pacing, and I loved most of the characters. Sometimes there were a few too many side characters that I think will be important but they’re actually just around for like 4 pages.
This makes me want to read more Terry Pratchett!

fun fact: I listened to this whole book grinding for one boss (that I still have not beaten) in the hollow knight. pls help.
