Other reviewers were saying this book is so much darker than the other books in this series, so I was expecting it to be a lot worse. Yeah it’s a bit darker, but just not too dark I guess. It’s a bit longer than the previous books so it takes a while to get Priests’ whole story and why he is the way he is. Yes he’s an unhinged psychopath, but for good reason. And yes I still love him
This book gave me a renewed hatred for people who do evil, degraded, absolutely wicked things in the name of religion. I think there’s gotta be a special kind of hell for those people and the people that enable them.
The fallen family continues to hold and will probably always hold a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to read the rest of the guys, stories. Axe-Man, Wrath, Dane, Kodiak, Lysander, even Curtains. I can’t remember all of them but if in the end there are 25 books I’ll obviously read every single one of them.
One thing that did confuse confuse confuse me was why did they repeat everything three times like…

The one thing I just could not get past was the peaches iykyk Just… Why? Like the first time whatever it was fine but the overuse of it was really starting to disturb me.
Anyways….yeah read this book. Read this series. Listen to Nomy. Wait for the rest of the books to come out. Read them too…. Just whatever Okay bye

This is the 6th book in the fallen men series so we got to see all the other characters in the other novels. This one is about LouLou’s sister Bea and her love story with priest, the Fallen MC enforcer. This is by far the darkest story, since he’s a serial killer. I think this one was the best written and I really enjoyed the light of Bea with the darkness of Priest. The epilogue made me knock it down from 4 stars.

I’ve read quite a few Giana Darling novels and none of them have made me feel half of what DMW has. This is categorically the best novel so far in this series. Priest? My gosh, there are no words to express how much I adore this man.
Priest was probably the most interesting character I’ve read in a long time. A high functioning psychopath, burdened by trauma, who despite his nature, cares for people even if he doesn’t know how to express that. “The devil with a heart.” As Bea would say. I don’t know how truly accurate the depiction of psychopathy in this novel was, but I found it utterly fascinating to read about Priest trying to process and understand the emotions he feels, even though he has no concept of them. And to see the way he relates to people and how that all works in the vein of his mental illness. Priest’s backstory, what little we learned of it really broke my heart. I probably sobbed the most reading this one, than I did any of the others.
I was absolutely invested in this novel from the first page and with every chapter my little obsession grew.
I’m not a fan of the virginal innocent character, but the contrast between Priest’s dark nature and Bea’s innocence, was something I liked. Simply for the fact that despite her upbringing and her religious nature, Bea has always been inexplicably drawn to darkness and so naturally, she’s been drawn to a man like Priest. I loved how she knew what he was from the get go and accepted that completely, accepted him wholly and never tried to change or try to fix him. I loved the way she understood that some people can’t be fixed and sometimes they don’t want to be. Their relationship is hands down one of my favorites.
The contrast with her devotion to religion and Priest’s own aversion to god and anything remotely religious was also an interesting thing to see play out, it became even more interesting when you’re finally made to understand why he is the way he is. The entire use of religion as the driving force of the actions of many characters in this book was absolutely fascinating to me, as someone who like Priest is Atheist. I loved though, that despite the fact that he doesn’t believe in god Priest is fascinated by the human desire to believe in god and partake in organized religion. So much so that he collects and reads dozens of religious texts in his attempt to understand this need people have to cling to any vestige of faith they can find.
Also, I adore the irony of him taking on the moniker of “Priest” considering the quality of life he lives. The way he indulges in these blasphemous acts and contorts bible verses to suit his need, utterly hilarious, imo.
All of these novels are dark in their own way, but the play on religion and a psychopathic serial killer using religion as a means to commit his crimes was such an intriguing thing to read. It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything resembling a mystery and I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect of this book. I sorely wished, however, that it wasn’t so easy to figure out who the killer was. I knew who it was before I was even halfway through with the book, though it was still nice to see it all play out.
All in all, Dead Man Walking is my favorite book in this series and probably my favorite book I’ve ever read from Gianna.

A lot of my bookstagram friends said Nova was their favorite MMC but Priest was mine. I mentioned in a previous review that I had read three of the books before but way out of order so I read book 7 when it came out which kickstarted me finishing the series. I strongly disliked Bea in it because she was pretty rude to Mai, and while I have strong feelings about how crappy people were to Mai. I can see how much of a family everyone is and I guess I like that she was protective of Axe Man.
Anywho, so we have Bea in this one, she is 19 but has had feelings for Priest now for a while (you find out later that he has also had his eye on her for a while). Priest is the club enforcer and is very clearly a psychopath. It's ironic because Bea is a churchgoer and volunteers and does all of these great deeds but she loves the dark side of things and is drawn to Priest.
When a serial killer starts terrorizing the citizens of Entrance basically in her name, Priest becomes VERY protective. He starts staying outside of her window every night and they end up starting a relationship. Now he isn't slow on the trigger like some others, he is very clear that she is his for good now. At the end of the book we find out that Seth is the killer and he has all of these extreme religious beliefs and is obsessed with Bea. Once the club saves Bea and Cleo, Seth is tortured and killed and the girls start their journey of healing. During this time Bea and Priest come to grips with the fact that she is pregnant.
We finish the book seeing them a little in the future with their baby. Seeing how protective Priest was of Bea throughout the book then seeing it with their baby??? Heart eyes. He is def a fav for me and I ate this one up.

Everyone needs a Priest in their life!
To be perfectly honest.. I was waiting for the next book to be out before finishing this one but I ran out of patience and now I’m sad I didn’t wait because oh my, how am I meant to get over this now?
I want more Priest!

I've read this book twice now and it's nowhere near as good as book 2 or 1, or even nova and lilas book. It's still good all the same though and they are cute together. It has a different and interesting plot line to the others and much kinkier bdsm sex. I'd recommend it but it wasn't my favourite one.
