Fun listen while I worked on a puzzle on this icey/snowy day.
I would like to read some newer stuff by Eloisa James. I like her knowledge of the regency era and happy to suspend reality for some of her more outlandish plots. But I’m curious to see where she is today. 2 of the 3 books I’ve read by her rely heavily on lack of communication which I find annoying.
But I’m still here for her. Maybe her newer stuff will have evolved.

The last book in the Pleasures trilogy and my least favorite of the three.
While I can't put my finger on it, there was something about the story that just didn't do it for me and I found myself annoyed and impatient with both the main characters at various times.
Having read most of the author's books I know she can do better, and I'm hoping that the Desperate Duchesses series, which is the only one I haven't read yet, is one of her better ones.

My favorite of this series! It kind of feels like it's off on its own minus the cameos of some past characters. Parts of it were funny! Some of the subplots were a little absurd but I don't necessarily read for realism, so not a big deal for me. Love the characters of Quinn and Gabby and Lady Sylvia.
This story wasn't as good as the second one of the series, but it was better than the first one. It is funny, I hoped I'd like it more than I actually did. Gabby and Quill felt like such interesting characters at first, but the more I read, the more I found them pretty dull. I also thought that some of the supporting characters, like the little girl, Phoebe, could have been used better. The whole plot with Gabby's adoptive brother was also something that seemed promising, but as it happened, it became boring. There was a lot of wasted potential here.
