Back on the Lovecraft train after a little time away.
This one is okay, I wonder how much it owes to The Hound of the Baskervilles if at all?
Anyway the ending was probably the best part of this tale.

Infinitely funny to me that these guys had been robbing graves, performing rituals, and generally being super-creeps out in the middle of nowhere for so long, yet when a real supernatural thing starts happening as a direct result of their actions they're like "gotta be a rational explanation for this"

Another fun reading of Lovecraft by Roddy McDowell! I really wish there were more of these because the narrator really brings the work to life. Not only that but if I'm not mistaken, this is the first of HPL's works to mention the Necronomicon! You can listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaTDqu7-SDo
