This is an amazing book if you're looking for an overview of the US from an indigenous lens.

This was a really eye-opening book about the indigenous people of this country. I knew we (white Americans/colonizers) had screwed them over before I read this book, but I didn't realize *how* baked into everything anti-Indian ideas are, and how many people who are lauded as heroes had a role in their genocide, well beyond Andrew Jackson. Hard read. Important.
