This book was addicting. The banter between Drew and Josh was perfection. The tension I felt actually made my heart clench. And the level of caring between the two of them was heart wrenching. I could not be more satisfied in a romance. Some of the moments the author crafts just the epitome of everything I want to see in a romance. I read it in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down.
My only note would be the white savior-ism in it wasn’t my favorite. Just because I think it is a hard topic for a white author to do with sensitivity. Although I don’t believe there was any ill intent as Josh was meant to be a selfless character but that is often the crux of white the white savior complex. Similarly there was comment about the conditions/medicine on Hawaii made by the mother which is mostly condemned by the fmc and mmc.
