This book has magic or drugs laced into the words because I never wanted to put it down! John Gwynne is a master of writing battle scenes, I knew this from reading the Bloodsworn saga, but the depth to this story telling is already more than I felt I got from that trilogy. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series!

There was a lot of information in this book. Felt like the primary focus was world building, learning key figures/relationships and politics. The author does a good job of reminding you of who characters.

Most of the book was spent building tension. But the author does it in such a fun way! The build up was so enjoyable and didn’t feel tedious.

Can’t wait to start Valor
