Meh I didn’t really love the dynamic between the two characters...so it was hard for me to stick with the story. I also like a slow burn romance vs. jumping into a couple that already has a relationship...

Romance novels have been getting better with time.

Big Pros for The Right Swipe:
- Protagonists of colour
- The drama is not insubstantial. It's actually tied in with issues and trauma related to each person. Not flung in there randomly to create the 'turning point' romance novels are famed for.
-The supporting characters are funny and wonderful.
-The main female lead is strong and assertive.
-The bedroom dynamics is refreshingly different and realistic (about time!)

Would recommend.

I really liked this. When I went into it, I didn't have any expectations other than knowing people general like this.

Samson is now one of my favorite love interest I've read in a rom-com, he's just been through a lot with both the loss of his father years before and the more recent loss of his uncle to brain-related ailments. And what he did for one of his friends just showed how good of a person he was.

Rhi took a little longer for me to understand but I liked her a lot as well, she's such a strong woman and knows what she wants. But also has a lot of trust issues from a past relationship that she knows she needs to work on, so to see her trying to challenge and struggle with those issues is important.

I hope to see a cameo of her and Samson in the next book.

A silly goofy time! The ceo of a swipe-based dating app was ghosted & runs into him months later at a conference. It turns out, he’s a competitor’s nephew, former football star, and the new face of Match (Rhi’s competitor). What will happen when they face each other again???

Lots of steam, discussions of football & concussions, a dash of #metoo. I had fun!

Not bad! An easy read and I appreciated the diversity of the characters! Nothing wrong with the book but just not as interesting of a plot as I thought!

3.5 rounded up. This was so cute and fun! I really enjoyed the modern/technology aspect of it and the representation. I also loved that so many characters were successful women commanding everyone around them
