This series is just pure pleasure. I love Ruth and Nelson and how even the side characters have interesting storylines. The mysteries are compelling and there’s just enough an element of mysticism to give it a bit of a Gothic feel. This one is about unearthing the remains of a Bishop, stolen Aboriginal bones being repatriated, and shady things going on at the Smith family’s stables. Can’t wait to read more in the series.

The novel revolves around a murder at a local history museum in Norfolk and a curse relating to its collection of Aboriginal bones.  An exceptional novel which balances series character development and a cracking whodunnit.

This is another lovely read by Elly Griffiths in her Ruth Galloway series. We travel with Ruth as she enters a new part of her life and settles into motherhood. We also spend time with Nelson and the other characters familiar to the series. There are a few deaths, an unearthed coffin of a bishop and the Smith family, very rich and with their own stud farm. Great story to follow and the narration is spot on.
