Definitely absorb this as an audiobook. Maria Bamford's voice is so distinctive and it's a delight to listen to her. Her tone is wry, her stories sometimes hard to digest but she does, indeed, have a rich history of joining various groups that could be classified as cults whether it's a religion, a diet scheme, or any number of "anonymous" organizations.

Maria is very open and honest in her book about her struggles with her eating disorder, joining debtors anonymous, joining sex and love addicts, her hospitalizations for her mental health struggles, struggling with OCD intrusive thoughts and suicidal thoughts, and lastly joining RCA (recovering couples anonymous). She is an inspiration for being so open and honest and this truly was a labor of love to read. It was both informative and inspiring.
