I have not listened to their podcast. I can imagine it being good. I laughed a few times at the beginning of the book but things quickly went downhill. This book just was not for me.

There were times that I could see how they were using a story from thier lives to teach their audience specific lessons. Other times I had difficulty figuring out what parts of this book were aiming to accomplish. I also felt like the way the stories were told were really messy and thrown together. I admit there were a few good stories but most of it seemed like fillers to make the book complete.

I think it was great how they wanted to share their stories with the world. I can see it all translating better in another format such as a podcast or blog. A book... not so much.

Had never listened to the podcast before and picked this one up on a whim- although a little repetitive in places, I was actually really pleasantly surprised

I absolutely loved this book. The writers are so witty and made me laugh quite a bit. I also saw some of my childhood in their stories and it was nice to reminisce. I loved the art work throughout the book and the pictures. It had way less true crime stories then I expected, but because their life stories were soo entertaining I didn’t mind. I will have to check out their podcast now. I also left with a few book recommendations I can’t wait to read.

There weren’t any new totally life changing tips on how to not be murdered.. but I especially relate to the fuck politeness one and I feel ready to try it out! But they did have a lot of good life advice. My favorite was - The Cult of Perfect- “The cult of perfect, deep down, is just fear. We want human connection, but we’re psychotically afraid of rejection, so our head tells us to stay home until we’re good enough. But when you get older, you learn the shittiest, most ironic life lesson: “perfection” is not a guarantee for happiness. “
