I honestly don't understand the hype around this series. This book wasn't as bad as the first one but it wasn't good. I wasn't able to get into it. Rhys is thankfully better than Alex but I still didn't love him. There were moments I thought he was sweet to Bridget but for the most part, I was annoyed by him.
Maybe it was because of all the jumps in time in the first half of the book but I didn't get the tension between Bridget and Rhys. I don't get what was so appealing about him other than his physical attractiveness. He was just unprofessional and acting possessive when he and Bridget weren't even together. The age-gap trope wasn't well done for me as he didn't act like a man who's 10 years older than her. The ending was cute though! 100 times better than the ending of Twisted Love.
The smut really wasn't my cup of tea so I mostly skimmed through them. They would have been a lot better if Rhys would just keep his mouth shut but he always had to say something that gave me the ick.
Ana Huang seems to really love use words like claim and belong and I cringe every time. I also think her plot twists aren't executed in the best way because I never react the way I should reading a plot twist. They have no impact because the way they are brought up is so random, I don't even understand that I'm reading a plot twist. It was the same thing for Twisted Love.
Maybe I'm just having Alex-PTSD and not judging Rhys or this book fairly, I don't know but I do think that if I had read this first, Rhys' possessiveness wouldn't have bothered me as much.
All this to say that I will be DNF-ing this series.
*****
Would I recommend this to others? Never
Would I reread this? Absolutely NOT
Do I regret reading this? Yes
Is this book forgettable? No because of how much I disliked it

It’s hard to rate, this book. Because even though the book was fun. Some scenes gave me butterflies, the book didn’t change my life. I also must say the jealousy of the love interest got at times tiring. I will read the other books of the twisted series though.

Honestly I was cringing at everything they were saying and doing for about half of the book so not my favorite book but still got through it!
