she's an ok author but she rambles or twists a bit much. i was half way through the book and wasn't completely sure what the mystery was that we were attempting to solve. more drama than mystery.

This was the best of the Lord John stories so far, in part because it felt like it tied into the broader narrative of the Outlander series and had more relevance to everything else. John and Percy’s relationship was also a poignant one to explore.

I think I'm beginning to love Lord John Grey almost as much as I love Jamie Fraser! In this book, 17 years after his father's death from suicide, John's brother Hal receives a page from their late father's diary. Hal doesn't want to investigate, but John does - because he knows the truth about his father's death - a truth that only he and his mother know but have never spoken of. In a book about honour, John must try to restore the honour to his family name and also let his new step-brother live out his life with honour after a scandal.
