This is my first time reading this, at 25 years of age, cause I bought it for my sister for her 8th birthday. Mostly because I knew it was a classic.

I never read this book when I was a kid but wow it was adventurous and probably would have really enjoyed it

As a preschool teacher, I've the privilege of reading this several times a year, every year. And I bought it for my nephew just because I believe it should be in his library. Plus, I want to experience it with him. Such a well-told story that even as an adult you can enjoy.
This is the first time I read this in a long, long time. Afterwards I thought, hmm. That's more simple than I remember. And what is it really about? So I read it again, and got the message: even if you are sometimes a terror and feel like the worst of all terrors (in an innocent childlike context) - at the end of the day, you are still loved. At least, that's how I interpreted it.
This is step 1 towards continuing my goal of reading all of Dave Eggers' books. Next is watching the movie that led to his book The Wild Things.
