Beautiful illustrations in this classic story about a grumpy child, who visits a land where ‘the wild things are’. Behind what you see on the page, Maurice Sendak was influenced by the children he saw when he looked out the window and also by members of his family.

Really good childrens book.

Time for a rereading before I see the movie I think.

Read for the first time in a while in anticipation of seeing the movie. Still probably the best book ever.

A celebration of imagination

I never read this as a kid and while perusing the book shelves today I thought, why not? Plus I'm pretty excited by the look of the movie coming out soon.

It's a charming tale for the young with simple and enticing illustrations. Maybe I was expecting something more though?

Excellent book that lets children imagine another world and ways to overcome their fears.
