So. Good. Wish I had this when I was a child.

Have finally read this classic for the first time as an adult (or so I can remember). I love the artwork a lot, the color palette and the line work of the prints. Especially liked the part "he sailed off through night and day and in and out of weeks and almost over a year."

Such a great book to help further someone's imagination. Lots of fun.

"Where the Wild Things Are" tells the story of Max, a mischievous young boy who, after being sent to bed without dinner by his tired mother, escapes to his imagination. In his bedroom, he embarks on a fantastical journey to a land inhabited by wild creatures. Surprisingly, instead of devouring him, the Wild Things proclaim Max as their king. The story unfolds as Max learns to navigate his newfound role and ultimately finds his way back home. This beloved children's book, authored and illustrated by Maurice Sendak, captures the essence of childhood imagination and the allure of adventure.

This book scared me when I was younger.

The funny thing is? The writing needs editing. But who cares? He sparks something deep, wonderful, and true. Art, imagination, and a firm grip on the human condition. :-)

I can see why this is considered a children's classic. Such a sweet story about Max and the creatures from his imagination.

A classic for a reason. Max’s lesson may be small, but it’s always a significant one I think.
