Before I say anything about this book, I ask you to check its trigger warnings if you want or are planning to read it. It's more than just a sad book, and it isn't for everyone.

With that said... Wow.
I've been looking for a favorite book for some time now, and I'm sure I finally found it. It has beautiful prose, beautiful characters, and beautiful relationships. Although I wanted to know how it finished, I also found that I didn't want it to end, that I wanted to read more about the characters, to learn more about their lives. I usually don't read lengthy books since I'm a slow reader, but I didn't mind it at all with this book.
I could go on and on about this book, but to put it simply, if I had to describe "A Little Life" in two words, I would say it's hauntingly beautiful.
I also want to add that I listened to the audiobook along with reading, and the narrator, Oliver Wyman, did a fabulous job. If you have the chance to listen to it while reading, I'd recommend it.

SAD. Sad, sad book with incredible writing. This could've been one of my all-time favorites, hadn't it
ended the way it did. The ending gives the whole thing an incredibly depressing message that I don't agree with.

Literally the best depiction of the life long effects of csa. A lot of it hit way too close to home. Absolutely beautifully written.

A long read, but it is definitely worth it. There were times where I had to put the book down, as it was simply too traumatic to read, but there were other times where I couldn’t put the book down as I was so hooked. Truly one of the best books I have read in a while, but make sure you are in a good frame of mind before reading, and make sure to read the list of trigger warnings.
