SUCH a good novel! A great continuation of this series. I can't wait to read the others!

love the series! Some of the phrases are a little goofy but the storyline is great. I'm excited that more characters have started to come into play. I CANNOT wait to find out what happens and am looking forward to reading the ebook on 6. The one part that really got me was Sarah's role in this book...won't say anymore than that.

Meh. Not as engaging as the first. Too many battle scenes. I'll read the next one but just to keep up with my daughter

I don't read a lot of YA as I find it's often not stimulating enough but I just love this series. This book, like the first is difficult to put down and I in fact read most of it on a plane to the UK. I don't know how this series will evolve but I can't wait to follow it along. Often times I find that book 2 in a series can be a little dull and disappointing, not this one. I couldn't read it fast enough!

Wow! I can't believe how much I liked this. Especially since I wasn't impressed by I Am Number Four much at all. The Power of Six is captivating and action-packed, and after about a quarter of the way through, I didn't want to put it down. I only had to because Physics & Algebra II came together to use their evil powers of brain numbing problems against me. Ahem. Anyway.

Another point of view is added in this book, Number Seven (correct me if I'm wrong, all the numbers confuse me..), Marina. I really enjoyed her POV, as much as I did John's, and I loved finding out about her Legacies. Marina's side of the story is definitely not as action-packed, but it was just as interesting to me. Her bestie Hector is one of the most lovable characters in the books so far. After Bernie Kosar of course.

I just looked back on my review of I Am Number Four, and I think I see what made me like this sequel so much better. Less romance. I know, right? Don't get me wrong, I love swoony moments and whatnot as much as the next girl, but I did not like it in the first book. Sarah seemed forgettable to me, and I didn't understand why John cared so much about her. Those feelings are only strengthened in this book. The romantic bits are my least favorite part of this one too. It didn't seem like anyone could make up their mind about who they want to be with.

We also get to meet a few of the other members of the Garde! One makes his entrance shirtless, which is always appreciated. There's a couple pretty cool twists tossed in here and there, like a connection between Sam and John that we find out about. It's not entirely unexpected, but still a nice development with the plot.

The ending is awesomely epic and it was the first time I felt like the Loric actually had a chance against the Mogadorians. Until the Big Bad comes of course. But we'll have to wait for The Rise of Nine to find out more about him. I'll definitely be looking forward to continuing this series a lot more after this book.

Power of Six, without a doubt, trumped I am Number Four. Action-packed and thrilling, it ensnares you from beginning to end. We follow Sam, John, Six, and Marina (number seven) in their struggle with their Lorien inheritance and their fight to stay alive. Lore introduces us to even more Lorien history, amazing legacies, and shocking revelations. The character development is much stronger than before, probably because it doesn't revolve so much around Sarah and John--speaking of which, their relationship experiences a major twist. I'd have to say, I loved the relationship between Marina and Ella, a seven-year-old orphan with a huge secret of her own. It was just so heartwarming and realistic, and proved that aside from their supernatural powers, the Lorien are every bit as human as the rest of us.

I only read books one and two of this series because it was the only thing to help get one of my students to read.
