The Power of Six

Pittacus Lore

Well, this one was WAY better written than the first. I also think they did a better job of conveying the weight of being #4 for John this time around. I also dig the development of Sam's character and storyline...he is, by far, the most interesting aspect of the books, in my opinion.

Loved this book and wished I had the next one in my hand to read right now the author did an amazing job at keeping up the pace and not letting anything drag like most sequels tend to do I loved it and cant wait for the next one

3.5
This is one of those fast paced books you race to finish, but doesn't have much meat if its bones, if you follow me. I wouldn't be able to summarize it I you asked me what happened. Definitely airport material.

Another awesome story by Pittacus Lore. Still in love with John Smith and Sam Goode. The power of six continues on from I am number four. We meet 4 & 6 in book 1 and we meet 7 (Marina), 8, 9 and Ella (possibly 10). 1 was killed in Malaysia, 2 was killed in England and 3 was killed in Kenya. We are still to meet 5 but I am sure will it.

Pittacus Lore is a fantastic story teller and I would recommend this book and the series.

I thought this one moved faster than the the first (unusual in a second book), but that could have been due to the variety of characters. The characters themselves are somewhat stereotypical right down to the requisite Mary Sue, but it makes for an enjoyable, entertaining weekend's read.

⭐️ 5/5. The second book in the Lorien Legacy series was even more captivating than the first! There is action, multiple perspectives, betrayal, and the same characters from book one that you love to love and love to hate.

Highlights:

👽 You meet more members of the Lorien Guard
👽 You get more backstory on the Lorien artifacts, the other guard members, and the conflict in general
👽 There wasn’t a dull moment
👽 Epic battles

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first, we have more powers, more fights and multiple povs now (well, two - but that's still multiple!)

I like the fact that this book is more based on figuring out how to join forces, and less about high school drama and romance. Although, speaking of romance, that whole love triangle..square? was so unnecessary, I'm glad it was very much in the back, but also Four is a thirsty little bitch and he needs to concentrate on what matters, not girls.

I like all the new characters we're introduced to, I feel for Marina so much, she's pretty much been left in the dark about her powers and training

We got to learn more about Six. However, I have to say I read the "mini book" first, just to get myself super excited and I was. It left me hungering for more. So, I sit down and DEVOUR this book. It was good but I kept having to tell myself-teen angst....teen angst....because after awhile Four becomes annoying but he is a teenager with conflicting feelings. We learn about how our trio lives together and trains for the inevitable. We also learn about another Number in Spain. If you read a little of the preview from the re-edited Number Four, you would have read maybe the first chapter or two. So, if I read it super fast, why just 3 stars? Well for one, they start mentioning the aliens by specific names and I got confused. It started morphing into a science fiction book and I really don't like to keep flow charts when I'm reading. Two, these books seem to follow a trend-reel you in, lead up to a gigantic (and I mean gigantic) fight scene, then end abruptly-almost like those super short movies when Superman is about to save Lois Lane but you have to come back next week. And finally, the ending-it became so mixed up for me and I was so angry about the things the author did-the battles were drawn out, other Numbers start to appear and as they do, they realize they have powers, characters just disappear without explanation. I guess I wanted a bit more but they have to leave something for the sequel.

So, I didn't give much away but I will say it was a super fast read (read it in a week) and it was good. Was it worth the wait? Yes and no-I learned more about Six, not so much more about Four, we learned about the significance of the chests and how different Loriens believe in different things. Overall, good read.

Loved it!!
