It's like she knows everything about my marriage! It's like chatting with your best friend about that hunk of a man you call your own :)

I don't like the expression "white whine" but Jenna McCarthy exceeds that in this book. When she started complaining about having to use the same bathroom as her husband (OMG boys poop and smell!), I knew I wouldn't be able to finish this book. The whole thing reeks of upper-middle class white privilege and selfishness.

this was a great read! there was so much that i related to and so many times that i wanted to read whole chapters to my husband or my friends. i absolutely loved reading this and really want to send copies to my friends. there wasn't really any advice other than to be happy with the quirks that you married bc it could be worse and that all of these little things are worth getting past. i highly recommend this to any wife and maybe even a few husbands!

It’s funny, but not because it’s good. If you wanna read the whining of a heterosexual upper-middle class white woman, be my guest. The chapter about camping made me want to pull my teeth out. Definitely good for a laugh though.

If my partner ever wrote a whole book about how horrible and incompetent I am, I would divorce their ass.

Someone called this “an amusing romp through the psychology of marriage” and I love that description. The subtitle made me nervous it would be a little too husband-bashing for me, but it’s more of a Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus kind of thing – although maybe I shouldn’t say that, having never read that book. What I mean is it was filled with anecdotes about the differences between husbands and wives (mostly Jenna and her husband specifically) and how they each drive the other crazy. It was a nice light read for when I needed to break up all the books about dystopian worlds and vampires:)

This book starts out funny but by the end you just feel bad for her husband. She basically wrote 300 pages about how much he annoys her! Sheesh! She and her husband seem SO mean to each other (mostly her being mean to him) it's sad. If you want to listen to someone complain endlessly about her near-perfect marriage, this book is for you.

This book made me laugh! Some things didn't apply to me, like marriage/parenthood, but I give this book an extra star for how funny I thought it was. Jenna did seem a bit high-maintenance ... highlights, pedicures, obsessive, maybe a clean freak ... but I enjoyed her writing. Some of my favorite parts were the "At Least You're Not Married to Him"s scattered throughout the book. Just skim or flip through it ... you'll be glad you did!
