Some bits reminded me of The Secret History, which is still one of the best books I’ve ever read. Nice setup by the author, the main character is surrounded by potential psychopaths so you don’t know who the real one is until the end and it was surprising. I think it’s similarity to a few other books I’ve read kept me from enjoying it more. I liked the way the narrator said the author’s name.

🤷 It was dark academia-light. Definitely some better takes out there, but it was short and fast and held my attention. A decent in-betweener kind of book.

This book was a rough one for me. I loved The Silent Patient, but since then I have not been able to get through another book by this author. Although, I did finish this one.

All of the arrogant professors and teaching staff in this novel reminded me that I am ecstatic to not be in that world. Gross.

I didn't care for any of the characters, and the story was weird and boring.

Im conflicted how i feel about this book. I got easily hooked and wanted to keep reading it almost every chapter ended in a way that made me go just one more. I loved the Silent Patient it was one of my favourite reads and I still recommend it to alot of people. This one had me suspicious of everyone and I did suspect the murderer but not for the right reasons. I really didn't like the motive and the way the book ended. Probably 3.5 stars.

i love love loved the setting of this book. i also loved the greek mythology these throughout it. the twist was great also, i just wish it was a little more fast pace
