i was expecting more.
i enjoy thrillers that start with knowing what happened (in this case the death of a child). however, this book fell short because it didn’t really explain why the nanny did what she did other than show she was obsessive and a little insane. i really want to know more of the WHY.
i enjoyed the prose, the pacing and the way the plot unfolded. i’m just unsatisfied with the overall story.

I only paused in my reading to finish up some other books (and of course, work). Finally got back to reading and couldn't put it down. This book will haunt me for a while. The author does an excellent job of creating characters who are so lifelike but at the end, you don't want any of them to be lifelike. Compulsive. Haunting. And terrifying. A book I want to talk about- who wants to read it?
Found this book in a fabulous book store in Middlebury, VT. The review was so encouraging I had to buy the book. A gripping story from the first page. Great character development and detailed descriptions. A great book for a beach vacation. Strong writing and well worth reading.
