This book was boring to me especially after reading the first book.

Oh, well...if you had died, you'd have been welcome to share my toilet —Moaning Myrtle

Harry Potter is inarguably the most empowered kid I've encountered in literature. In this sequel, his life is at risk once again, and the stakes are higher than ever, all because of a mythical monster hiding somewhere within Hogwarts. Add into the picture a house elf with a twisted messianic complex, and Harry's miserable initiation into puberty is complete. It's a good thing that our dear Harry isn't a typical twelve-year-old, and he has two best friends who will protect him at all cost. I'm so thrilled to have experienced another unforgettable adventure in this beautiful world of magic.

P.S. I am not reading the series backwards. This is simply a belated review. :)

I loved this book! It was so good and has definitely gotten me hooked. I did think it was pretty slow and at one point thought that there wouldn’t be a resolution to the major conflict in this book, but right at the end I got way more satisfaction than I could’ve asked for.

I’m really loving the relationship development between Dumbledore and Harry, and I can’t wait to learn more about Harry’s history. I was devastated when Hermione was petrified, but leave it to Harry himself to slay the basilisk and defeat Voldemort again. Also Dobby… the sock part at the end was e v e r y t h i n g! So happy for him and the way they were both able to get back at Malfoy.

Last but not least, the Ginny stuff really took me by surprise and I was so convinced it was Percy who opened the chamber. Overall this was a great story and I can’t wait to read the next!

I haven't read through this series in a least a decade and going back was a totally different experience. I feel like I picked up so much more, each page and chapter was magic. If I could live in this book I would.

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
