I enjoyed this book—truly a fun read, but ultimately, just not the right genre for me. I HATE the insta-love trope (thanks Twilight) and this gave me a lot of those vibes. I appreciate the time travel plot and the minimal amount of loose ends. I’ve seen many people saying Glenda and Charlotte are unrealistic, but having family members like them—I’d say Gier nailed jealousy. My biggest issue with this series is the romance—take it out and give me a time travel plot...I’m sold. I think it’s dangerous to sell insta-love like this to kids because then they believe they should fall in love in two weeks when they start dating some one. No. No. No. no. That’s not a great narrative for teens. Charlotte’s pining is way more believable—at least she’d known the guy for years.

TL;DR: great time travel plot; it’s a no on the romance.
