INCLUDES ***SPOILERS*** FOR THE FIRST TWO BOOKS IN THE SERIES: RUBY RED (#1) AND SAPPHIRE BLUE (#2).

The third book in The Ruby Red Trilogy is a fantastic conclusion to an enjoyable series. Emerald Green is definitely my favorite out of the three books as exciting adventures abound and questions are finally answered.

We start out with Gwenyth sulking from being dumped by Gideon. I’ll just let her explain things: “I wouldn’t be the first to die of a broken heart, after all—I’d be in good company. There was The Little Mermaid, Juliet, Pocahontas, the Lady of the Camelias, Madame Butterfly—and now me, Gwenyth Shepherd.” She sulks. She still likes him. (You can read my review of Sapphire Blue in which I can’t understand her feelings for him, but to each her own.) So the romance (or lack thereof) is something that plays an important part in the third installment of this series.

There was a small thing that happened in the beginning of the book that was a BIG clue in something that happened later on. (Sorry I’m being vague, but spoilers.) I was disappointed, because I wanted there to be surprises at the end.

There were.

There was an event towards the middle of the book (again, sorry for being vague, but I don’t want to spoil) that made me go whoa. Didn’t see that one coming. It totally changed everything about what I thought I knew and led up to an incredible finale that surprised me. My only complaint was that the big finale was very quick for such a long book/series.

Okay, that’s not my only complaint, but I already went on a mini-rant about the L-word here.

It was also entertaining to see how things can get all wonky when time travelers run into themselves in the past. I won’t say anymore (goodness, I just want to spoil all the things), but… it happens. And it is amusing.

Ultimately, I found this to be a very satisfying conclusion for an enjoyable series.

December 2016 Review:
This was an amazing read. I wanted to re-read this book so I can watch the movie. I still love the story and I think this book series was a fun adventure into time travel. I thought Gideon and Gwendolyn's relationship was great. Throughout the series, both characters start to become their own and their love for each other grows as well. I am glad I re-read this book. Hopefully the movie does it justice. I think this series is one of my all time favourites. Overall, an incredible read.

Kudos to Kerstin Gier for writing this series. For me, it was very adventurous and exciting to read. WILL RE-READ THIS SERIES FOR SURE!!!!
