I feel like this could've been a lot better if the author kept Arsene Lupin as his own character. Arsene is just portrayed as someone who bests Sherlock Holmes.

This Penguin Classics edition of Arsène Lupin, Gentleman-Thief was in the public library's used book sale. I'd never heard of the author, Leblanc, or of Arsène Lupin. It was the most delightful random book find of my life. These stories are clever, charming, and often quite funny. Lupin is ingenious whether he is pulling a heist on some pompous boaster or coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress. I already can't wait to read more of Arsène Lupin's exploits.
