Holy f. This book is wild. A husband and wife decide to have an open marriage. It turns out nothing is real and everyone is lying about everything. Their poor 3 kids. This couple needs a lot of help. The twists and turns are unexpected. There’s some shock and awe that was not necessary and slightly cheesy but I think it’s definitely a book I would recommend for anyone who likes mysteries or thrillers.
Minor: Emotional abuse, Gaslighting, Infidelity, Murder, Misogyny, Sexual content, Toxic relationship, and Violence

This book was insane. I genuinely just thought it’d be some affair and someone kills someone blah blah but oh GOD the never ending twists were crazy and unexpected. I finished it in basically a day.
I did like the back and forth of narration. I was confused a lot of the time why the characters made certain decisions but oh did the ending explain it all.
** SPOILERS **
But also god the ending made me hate them both. It’s crazy while reading it you kinda root for them and their marriage. Turns out she’s a psycho freak and HES A RAPIST MURDERER??? I kinda felt sick finding that out. After you just took this whole journey in his head, disgusting. And when we find out Ainsley literally knew about it?? I feel bad for their CHILDREN. Someone go save them kids for god sake.
I had a feeling something was weird when he went on the first date and was so comfortable to go back to Mallory’s place. It was very strange that you were led to believe he was shy and timid but he went into this open relationship concept so easily.

It’s probably nothing like you imagined it would be.
