Wow! Reading it after “Heartstopper”, I don’t know what I was expecting to be honest. But it certainly wasn’t this. While definitely being darker than “Heartstopper”, it carries all its strong suits: clever thought out characters and relationships, a realistic setting, a pretty diverse character set (tho not as diverse as “Heartstopper” and I just love the way Alice Oseman, approaches these heavy subjects from a point of view of relatability.

Also I just loved Tori! She made me laugh, cry and maybe relate more than I would like to admit.

While I struggled a bit with my rating anything less than 5/5 would seem unfair.

I think I would have loved this book more if I read it when I was 15. It took me back to when I was a teenager and even though I don’t miss it I do think reading this validated some parts of me.

This is certainly a Y/A read--- from the pacing to the inner dialogue of Tori. Her character just hit me at the perfectly right time in my life, but but in any other instance, I would've found her repetitive and maybe even annoying. Plus, the end felt unrealistic and crazy (which I guess is the point?) but did not leave me satisfied.

Alice Oseman has been one of my favorite authors throughout my teenage years, and it’s only fitting that their first book is my last stop in the osemanverse. Although the plot was not my favorite, Tori quickly became one of my favorite characters of all time. She spoke to a part of me that has long since changed, but I will always remember. I cannot put into words how beautiful that representation felt.
